The story of the flee & the elephant OR we can't control existence

While being confronted with life’s ups and downs, we sometimes experience a certain level of powerlessness. Which is a natural instinct. It happens for example when we have to face something happening to us or to someone we care for and we can’t control the circumstances. It makes us feel out of control. And we get into resistance of what is, resistance against reality, telling ourselves "it shouldn't be like this!".

How can we surrender and let go of this feeling of being out of control?
How can we accept that we can’t control existence?

I always like to think of the metaphor of the flee & the elephant.
Us being the little flee and life being the elephant.
We have no control over the elephant and can’t change what it does.
We just have to find a way to surrender to it, inhale, exhale and let go.
And while we are at it, we might as well try to enjoy the ride!
